Master-class of Andrey Pavlovich Chuzhakin
on applied theory and practice of interpreting took place in
Kazan on 13-14 November 2009 on the basis of
ISGZ
translation/interpretation faculty, with support of
ISGZ rector,
"Lingvo-Elite" translation bureau
and your humble servant.
In the framework of the event, the first city translators and interpreters
conference took place - a discussion on professional issues moderated by
Mr.Chuzhakin, followed by establishing
Tatarstan interpreters forum platform.

Main issues covered:
1) Interpreting - specifics, difficulties and typical errors
2) Eurostandards in translation/ interpreting
3) Teaching translation and interpreting
4) Mother tongue
5) Practical training
6) Getting ready for translation/interpretation, shaping own activities and
interaction with clients
The event was accompanied by presentation of textbooks and other materials, films on the work of interpreters on the highest level and in difficult situations. All seminar participants that attended both days were issued certificates of successful completion of the seminar. The report on the event shall be published shortly.
